Update Malwarebytes

If there is any bug in the version of the software, the developer fixes the issue and publishes a new update. So, first check if there is an update available or not. If yes, then you need to update it to the latest version.

If you get a version update message, you can simply click the update button. When you don’t get the message, you need to check it manually.

  • Open Malwarebytes by Clicking the Icon.
  • Locate the Application tab in Setting and Click on Install Application updates under the Application updates section.
  • If you get a message saying “There are no updates available “ Then you need to go to the next instruction. In case there is an update available, then click ok and a prompt will popup. Select Yes to start the update immediately.

Reinstall Malwarebytes

One of the common methods that everyone uses is to uninstall the application and then reinstall it. The issues caused by any corrupted software will be fixed with this method.

  • Go to the search bar and search for “regedit”.
  • Now retrieve your ID and Key.
  • Open Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring (MBAM) and select My Account. Then click on the Deactivate button. Now go to Settings and click on Advanced Settings. You will see a box next to an option “Enable self-protection module”. Uncheck it.
  • After that close MBAM. Go to Malwarebytes’ site and download the “mbam-clean.exe” tool.
  • Disable any security tools that may be open temporarily and also close all other open programs.
  • Run the mbam-clean.exe tool and an instruction will appear on screen which you’ll have to follow. Then there will be a prompt for rebooting your computer. DO as it says.
  • Now go to the MBAM site and download the latest version of it. Install it by following the instructions of the procedure on screen.
  • There will be a box next to the Trial option, uncheck it. Upon the launch of the program, click on the Activation button.
  • After that copy and paste your ID and Key that you retrieved from your registry in the dialog box. It should activate your license automatically.

Run Malwarebytes as an administrator

In case the aforementioned methods fail to fix the issue, try activating and running Malwarebytes as an administrator.

  • Right click on Malwarebytes and exit from it by choosing the “Quit” option.
  • Now detect the desktop shortcut for Malwarebytes. You can also allocate it in the Start menu. After that, click on it and select “Run as Administrator”. If any dialogue box appears, confirm it by clicking.

Now check if the issue of Malwarebytes real time protection still keeps turning off.
